This game is not for miners. Well, actually it is. In Quarry, you are a robot miner in space. You are fighting another robot miner for the most ore before the timer runs out. A relatively simple game that has the potential to grow on you. The controls are quite easy. Move with the left joystick and drop small decoys with the A button or large decoys with the X button.

The graphics are simple, yet effective. You pilot your robot around the screen picking up the pieces of ore while hoping to avoid the decoys. You have different backdrops for each of the 3 tries you have to collect the most ore.

The sound is good as well. A catchy bit of music in the background, pings and explosions when you run into the decoys.

This game for 1 or 2 players is pretty good although you wouldn’t think so at first glance. I think the only thing that would have made this game more fun and to help lose the repetitive factor in gameplay would have been to make it up to 4 player and online compatible. Otherwise a pretty decent showing. 3 thumbs up from me.
