Johnny Platform Saves Xmas! Review

Johnny Platform Saves Xmas!

I never played the original Johnny Platform's Biscuit Romp and after giving Johnny Platform Saves Xmas! a go, I wonder why.

Johnny Platform Saves Xmas! is a great retro style platformer that does so much remind me of my childhood. The retro look, music and just interesting level design - they all come together to make what very well may be a XBLIG top seller this Christmas.

What makes Johnny Platform Saves Xmas! so appealing? Well, it's simple it's straight forward, it's about Christmas, it has coffee in it and being a programmer myself, I all too well know the importance of coffee :)

It's up to you Johnny, a funny looking green dude with only four fingers per hand and a Santa hat to take on the evil robot army across 100 levels of intense platform fun.

The premise of the game is really simple, kill all of the robots and get to the exit and of course drink some coffee on the way.

Everything about Johnny Platform Saves Xmas! just fits so well, the art, the music, everything. Fans of platformers would most certainly do themselves a favour by grabbing a copy of this one.

I'll leave you with The Twelve Days of Christmas, Johnny Platform style, as provided by the developer of
Johnny Platform Saves Xmas! IshiEiketsu. Oh and my rating of .......

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me:
Twelve crackers cracking,
Eleven robots marching,
Ten guns a-shooting,
Nine bombs exploding,
Eight spikes a-spiking,
Seven puddings rolling,
Six fires a-burning,
Five coffee riiiiings!
Four flame throwers,
Three ice blocks,
Two pink presents,
And Johnny in a platform game!
