Although this site is for indie games on xbox live, I thought I would take a small trip off topic in regards to a program that compliments the 360 quite nicely.
Today’s review will be on a program called Tversity. The program will allow you to stream movies, music and pictures from your computer to your gaming system and works better than Media Centre for streaming.
The program can be found at http://tversity.com and is very simple to use. After downloading, all you need to do is find and connect your system through the program. Currently, the program is can be used by the 3 top systems. Xbox 360 (the best), PS3 and Wii. If you have trouble connecting the system through your computer, there is a guide to help you. Once this is installed, you would need to install the k-lite codec pack to translate some video properly.
If you have home videos stored on your pc and want to watch them on something other than your rinky dink 15-20” screen, then by all means use this program. It is simple to use and runs in the background easily. Just remember to manually refresh the program whenever a new file is added.
Once the program has been installed and is working, all you need to do is click on the + symbol to add a file, folder or webpage. You can even add youtube users to stream their files directly to the tv. You can even stream from Hulu, Joost, BBC iPlayer, Marvel etc. The list goes on and they are constantly improving the platform. The best part of this program is it’s price…FREE. You can give a donation to the creators if you like and I’m sure that they would appreciate it.
All in all, this is a great program that compliments your gaming system and I highly recommend it.
